She lost her parents to an Other attack when she was younger. Subsequently, was adopted by the Randall family. Her adoptive parents never treated her like a real daughter and disciplined her harshly.

Kasane has a deep emotional attachment to her adopted sister Naomi, the only who showed her any kindness in her grow.

The hair clip she wears was given to her as a matching pair by Naomi, as a proof that they were sister, and is Kasane's most treasured possession.

Her real power is Gravikinesis, that behaves like Phychokinesis. That make her possesses the Red String, a mysterious time travel ability.

She later discovers that she's an artificially born human, one of the Design Children from Togetsu, created for the purpose of awake the Red string. Nonetheless, she will always refer to herself as Kasane Randall, Naomi's younger sister.
