Although he was enrolled from the very beginning, his official introduction did not occur until the final event of the first-year curriculum. This is because his bloodline ability is "Detection Warding," and the Purson family are a clan of covert operatives who have long held the principle of "never standing out" as their highest virtue.

While usually quiet and expressionless, he is actually an unstoppable chatterbox once he starts talking. He has a playful, spirited personality and—despite his deadpan look—possesses a fun mindset that allows him to handle both the "straight man" and "funny man" roles in comedy. He uses a perception-blocking ability to gather all sorts of dirt on his classmates, yet he remains a gentleman toward the girls. Like any guy his age, he wants to be popular with girls and dreams of having a cute girlfriend. He finds it baffling that his homeroom teacher is popular with the ladies (or so it seems). He harbors resentment toward male students and teachers who have girlfriends or are popular with girls—a sentiment that becomes particularly pronounced when he’s had a drink.

However, having lived a life trying to stay under the radar, he tends to monologue endlessly and struggles with the give-and-take of conversation (a fact he is well aware of). He was given a trumpet by his mother in childhood; whenever he felt an urge to talk but couldn't, he would play the instrument instead. Consequently, he is a highly skilled trumpeter capable of rapid-fire playing that mirrors his talkative nature. It is his daily routine to play on the school rooftop after classes end, a performance that has become a signal for the end of the school day. Because no one knows what he looks like, the students call him "Pixie."
