Izumi belongs to the samurai family 'Noto'. She understands the norms of belonging to a samurai family, but still doesn't have the same sense of duty as Yui. Although she has the aptitude, she is still anxious about whether she will be able to be commissioned as an Eishi.

Izumi is in a long-distance relationship with her childhood friend who is already Eishi in the Royal Guard. Aki often teases her about how often the two send letters and call each other, and she has a heart locket pendant with his picture inside.

The mental blow from discovering that her boyfriend was killed during early days of the BETA invasion of Japan resulted in her later mental instability.
