Eikichi Machimiya

He describes himself as having "stars", as well as "the devil's luck", which refers to the fact that he constantly encounters serious obstacles, but always succeeds in the end. He often resorts to invasive and unwanted physical contact to throw off other runners. Machimiya is also extremely adept at manipulation, as illustrated by his ability to bring together runners from different schools, twisting their emotions in his favor, under the guise of being their ally and cooperator. He feels intense pressure as the ace of his team, and is easily hurt when he doesn't meet their (or his) expectations.

He used to have a rivalry with Yasutomo, but since they noticed that they had something in common, they sympathized and even became friends.

He is now a freshman at Yonan University and a member of the Yonan University Bicycle Club with Shingo Kinjou, Souhoku's former ace, and Yasutomo Arakita, Hakogaku's former member and assistant.
